Poppies has just taken delivery of a brand-new 150 KVA Perkins standby generator (seen here prior to installation). This will replace our aging truck-engine-powered unit, which has long-since reached its retirement age. Poppies' Perkins will effortlessly power both Poppies Cottages and Poppies Restaurant, whenever required.

We did actually place our order before the October bombings, following predictions of more frequent power cuts due to rapid growth of the economy at that time. Now, however, that growth is mainly dreamed of - we will nevertheless be ready to provide you with even better service and facilities, when you decide to visit or perhaps revisit our unique little island.
